ARU Games Jam 2019
I wrote about my first proper hackathon event about a year ago, but this weekend was my first ever 24-hour game jam! The ARU Games Jam is an annual jam for students on the Computer Gaming Technology and Computer Games Art courses. This year’s theme for the jam was Overpowered.
Armed with the knowledge from my previous hackathon experience (namely to not try completely new things if we want to have a finished product at the end) I dived into the 24 hours coding experience with my teammates. The game we came up with was fun and campy, though not without faults, as it did have a few bugs in the end. And although we didn’t win, I immensely enjoyed the experience!
